FAC and club-office records, kept in order

Certificate dates that do not quietly lapse, club record-keeping obligations in one place, and links to the official rule rather than a summary of it.

What the club gets

  • Certificate dates tracked

Expiry dates for firearm and shotgun certificates are recorded against each member, with reminders ahead of the force's renewal window — so a renewal is started in good time rather than noticed a fortnight late.

  • Club records in one place

Membership records and the club's own record-keeping obligations, where the club office can find them, instead of across a ledger, an inbox and one committee member's memory.

  • Links to the actual rule

Where a rule matters, the app cites the current Home Office guidance or legislation and links to it. Where guidance changes, the link is the source of truth — not our paraphrase of it from six months ago.

  • Medical documents go to the police, not to us

Members are directed to send medical information to their police firearms licensing unit's own portal or to their GP directly. The club app is not a medical document store and does not try to become one.

What this is not

This guidance summarises publicly available Home Office and legislation.gov.uk materials for club members preparing firearms licensing applications. It is not legal or medical advice. Decisions on certificates rest solely with the chief officer of police. Always use the current official forms and confirm requirements with your GP and local firearms licensing department.

We do not predict outcomes, and we do not tell you what to put on a form. We tell you what the published requirement is and where it is published.
